ReCreativity - A social enterprise from Hungary

ReCreativity is a social enterprise that provides programs with the tool of creative recycling, in order that participants build creative solutions in their everyday life and in the mean time inquire environmental awareness. 

Our activities:

-          International youth trainings

-          Creative workshops in different places

Besides that you can meet us in different design markets – in and out of Hungary – where we usually present with a creative workshop and with our products.

In our workshops and trainings we use creative recycling as a tool to develop life skills. The method of learning by experience is combined with a creative process, most of the time in an international environment. During this process we give a new life to waste materials in simple, creative ways. We use modern household waste materials that are found in each family, from these there are born unique objects like accessories, wallets, bags, furniture or games.

We, the co-founders have diplomas in education management and youth work, and we have more than 7 years of experience in youth work that led to the foundation of ReCreativity. As young enterpreneurs we are also responsible for the managment of our enterprise, we have built great partnerships with Hungarian and European associations, and we tried ourselves in different things. We run projects continously, we like to see how it is growing day by day, and we also aim to show a good example to others to encourage enterpreneurship.

Our experieneces from the first year: 

The most important, that we never regret working on what we love to do! We were so determinded, so we quitted our job to do our activities 7/24 and we consider it as the best decision!

So how does it look like when You have an enterprise?

In the first times you accept support from friends for free. This is  very heart-warming and we appriciate every little move they made, but the main experience is that for a quality work that needs to be done by a deadline is better to pay the price of it!

Networking is very important – for this reason we always saved time to attend networking events in and out of Hungary – from these events very good partnerships were born.

Always worth to ask for support. No one ever teach us how to run an enterprise, how to do startegic plan, business plan. Since half a year 2 experts are coaching us helping in the administration, financies, strategic planning, we learn very practical things from them. It is good to save time and avoid failure, why not listen to someone who knows better how to do it.

Considering time management – still a challange sometimes, because doing what to love to do you will have new ideas, but less time to realize them. One need to focus on the main goal/mission to keep all the activities and possibilities in one track. Building your enterprise you can end up actually working 10-12 hours per day, just that we never called it „work” since we like it.

In your own enterprise you have to surround yourself with people whom you really know and trust and can spend all your time with them – we were very lucky with this! The TEAM is the first and most important!

And the JOY – even in hard times we never gave up, we always saw what was not working and changed these things, we never lost the passion and the fun in what we were doing. Other romantic statement J : really dare to dream big! Because what we are doing now was our biggest dream one year ago now is just reality!
